Charlotte & James' Wedding at Wootton Hall Estate

Charlotte & James got wed on a beautiful Spring day in the grounds of Wootton Hall Estate in Lincolnshire, I photographed this day alongside Charlotte Nelson, the lead photographer.

It's always a lot of fun to assist other photographers on a Wedding Day, as the second it gives me a chance to take a bit of a 'step back' if you will and get a little creative with angles and compositions. There's the option to take a bit of a risk because, generally, the lead photographer will take the role of getting the key moments from the 'best' spot, for example, Charlotte (as the lead) photographed the Bride walking down the aisle from the Groom's perpective, at the top of the aisle - perfect. Now my job, as the second, is to get an alternative angle and on this occassion, I opted to stay with the Bride and her Dad, waiting inside the Hall with quiet anticipation before their entrance into the ceremony. With the rather grand idea of capturing their aisle walk from the doorway of the Hall, in roughly a 20 second window of time as the door opened, the Bride and her Dad stepped out, her dress fluffed and then the door closed behind them (a risk, I'm sure we can all agree, you would never, ever choose to take when working alone!!)
